There are three different engines available for the 2022 Dodge Durango. The first is a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with an output of 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

If you’re mostly just looking for a family car that can offer you plenty of space and safety features, this engine is probably sufficient. It also gives you enough power to tow up to 6,200 pounds. That’s more towing capacity than any other V6 engine in this class.

The next option is a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine. It ups the output to 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This also increases your towing capacity to 8,700 pounds, which is also the best V8 engine towing in this class.

This engine won’t exactly blow your mind when it comes to fuel economy numbers, but it does come equipped with fuel-saving tech like Variable Valve Timing.

Finally, we have the 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine, the standard option on the Dodge Durango SRT® 392. This has an output of 475 horsepower, allowing the Dodge Durango to go from zero to sixty in just 4.7 seconds. It also boosts towing capacity to 8,700 pounds and gives the Dodge Durango a top speed of 160 miles per hour.
