3 Things to Do Before Your Chrysler Lease Ends

Is your Chrysler lease coming to an end soon? It’s important not to wait until the last minute to decide what to do when it expires, which is why you should have a plan. Here are three things you should think about.

Figure Out What Comes Next

Your first task is determining what you’ll do with your current vehicle. There are four options:

  • Purchase the car for the price agreed to at lease inception
  • Lease a newer version of your vehicle, or another model, from our dealership
  • Turn in your vehicle and walk away
  • Or, if you’re feeling indecisive, you can extend the lease for a short period

Car prices are higher now than before and almost certainly higher than when you took on your lease. That may mean higher payments if you buy or lease another vehicle. If you’re unsure of your options, talk to the finance department at your Chrysler dealership. You will likely have more choices than you realized between loyalty incentives, lease offers, and finance incentives.

Make Repairs

Wear and tear is an expected part of your lease, and is a part of normal depreciation. However, there are penalties if the wear is excessive or if you’ve exceeded your mileage allowance. This is the time to address repairs and to put aside cash for any applicable overages.

Clean the Vehicle Inside and Out

We also strongly advise giving your car a thorough cleaning. This isn’t just for our benefit. Over time, belongings, change, documents, and all kinds of other items can accumulate in your vehicle, and if they’re still there when you turn the car in, we cannot be responsible for them.
