Power and Performance 

 

The RAM 1500 Classic has a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 296 lb-ft of torque. The other option is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that puts out 395 horsepower, along with 410 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard in this new RAM truck, as is rear-wheel drive. 

One of the notable features of the RAM 1500 Classic is the very smooth ride it offers. This is because instead of leaf springs which many other pickups have, it uses coil springs. The RAM 1500 Classic also has good fuel economy for its class: 17 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. 

 

Towing and Hauling 

 

If you need a truck to tow or haul, the RAM 1500 Classic won’t let you down. While the base engine has a tow rating of 4,940 pounds, the V8 increases that to 10,620 pounds. This RAM truck comes with three bed lengths to pick from — five-foot seven-inch, six-foot four-inch, or eight-foot — and it has a maximum payload of 1,810 pounds. 

 

Interior 

 

Up to six people will fit very nicely in the RAM 1500 Classic, and the comfortable seats come with vinyl upholstery. You’ll have the option to swap that out for cloth.
