2023 Easter Jeep® Safari Recap
An annual event where Jeep® designers reimagine the brand’s iconic SUVs, the Easter Jeep® Safari has become a must-attend event for off-road aficionados. But if you couldn’t visit Moab, Utah, for the recent festivities, no worries! Here’s a rundown of what was showcased, including a new, all-electric Jeep Wrangler.
Jeep Scrambler
As the name implies, the Jeep Scrambler is a fun concept SUV that will happily traverse even the most challenging terrain. It has a 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine that pumps out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It’s equipped with 40-inch tires mounted on 20-inch wheels, plus AccuAir™ air suspension that can be raised between 1.5 and 5.5 inches using either a control switch inside the cabin or even the driver’s smartphone.
Jeep Wrangler Magneto
The fully electric Jeep Wrangler Magneto concept is powered by an electric motor providing 650 horsepower and 900 lb-ft of torque. According to Jeep, this motor is more efficient than previous versions, offering a 20 percent increase in driving range. Two selectable regenerative-braking modes and one-pedal driving are also on tap.
1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe
That’s not a typo; while it looks every bit like a retro throwback, the Jeep Cherokee 4xe is an entirely modern model. This plug-in hybrid has two electric motors and a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. It has 17-inch wheels and 37-inch tires.
